Don't want to put the VIN in the public forum. Sorry.

As soon as you place the ad, people will ask for it if you haven't posted it. You will really struggle to sell the car without publishing it. It's part of how one can verify what it actually is. There's really little to no risk to you.

Jesus- what's someone going to do with the vin? Won't post the vin of the car but has no problem showing off his license plates for the world to see...

turbotoo 04-18-2018 11:31 AM

Not my plate. Having a collection of Porsche its important to not put the VIN on the internet because when seeing to other collectors they typically google the VIN and get turned off by what peoples opinions are of the car in the the forums.

My initial thread was to get opinions of market value.

So where are the pictures? No engine. No interior. Could be anything really.

Pirelli makes the correct tires. Just did a set on one of mine.

What's the VIN?

Kidding. Although I have 40 Porsches and pretty sure every single VIN is online somewhere. I have nothing to hide.

kc911s 04-18-2018 04:49 PM

So you don't want a buyer to do their due diligence?

Maninblack,

What Pirelli tires did you put on your 75, the p6000? Looking to purchase for my 75 Carrera.

Thanks

Yes. I'm pleased with them.

Not hiding. Protecting. And I didn't post my car for sale. I said I was considering it and wanted to get peoples opinions of value, but as usual threads always end up off track.

It's getting off track because people don't know what it is.

The problem is that many people post what they think is a Carrera and people spend a lot of time nailing down a number for them only to find out it's not a Carrera and it's a S.

You can post the VIN or pic of it without the last two numbers. Someday, somehow it's gotta get out there when you sell it so people can research it. So it's either now or later. Keeping it undercover makes little to no sense if you're selling because it's a very important piece of information that people need to know.

So if and when you put it on eBay or BaT with the VIN which you are required to do, then it will come back here for discussion and then people will be able to make an educated decision of its value.

Garbage in, garbage out. Can't blame us when you choose not to help yourself.

"Hey I need your guys help, but I'm not going to give you any of the info you need to give me a value!"

Won't give out vin to keep it secretive and driving a car around with someone else's plates on it just seems kind of weird to me.
