69T Resale Value - Yellow or Orange
My one owner 69T has been in the shop all winter getting sheet metal repair. Almost time to paint. It's not a numbers matching car as it has a '71 2.2 engine.
Factory color was Bahama Yellow, then painted black (poorly) many years ago. So, from the aspect of resale value, go with the yellow, or vote with my heart that sez Signal Orange? ![]() (photo just an example of Bahama Yellow, not mine)

I would do the yellow. There is something about retaining the original factory color that seems right to me.

I agree, but that yellow is also ugly.

my 914 is signal orange, and i like it on that car.
but i like the signal yellow on the early 911' more than orange, and it will command a premium over the orange in the event you sell the car someday as it's the original color. if you don't care about resale, paint it whatever color floats yer boat...

Thanks all. Reality is that a resale will be around the bend.....Can't keep them all.....

What are your plans for the car? If your plans are to sell it then go with the original color. If your plan is to keep it then go with whatever you want. Both colors are ugly. Signal yellow is basically school bus yellow. I had a pickup that was that color for years. It was disgusting. Good thing I already was with my wife, no girls would give me the time of day in that thing.

I am fairly sure that the car in the image is Signal Yellow. Bahama Yellow is much more of a tan/manila beige. I presently have a signal yellow '73 T coupe, and I restored a Bahama Yellow '69 912 coupe for my brother many years ago.

Whether it is signal yellow or Bahama yellow, both are very rare colors so I would be inclined to take it back to original, unless you absolutely hate the color. Personally, I like the color a lot so it would be an easy decision for me.
