I bet this one can be bought for 40k. It’s got slightly less miles than yours, and probably in far better condition.

You’ll be way upside down spending 35k on a 115k mile car that needs quite a bit of work to it. It will ALWAYS cost way more than you expect it to unless you’re doing all of the work yourself. Buy a car that PPI’s out, instead of one that comes with a five figure estimate of repairs from the PPI shop.

That car sold months ago, I had spoke to the owner a few times and was about to drive out to check it out and hopefully bring it back with me but a dealer in Los Angeles had already bought it.

Maybe they should take the ad down then. But my point is still valid, ‘financing’ a restoration project as opposed to buying a sorted car in good condition for slightly more money is rarely a wise decision. It’s usually made due to a lack of funds, which then gets magnified even worse when they go to sell and lose far more money than had they just bought the better car to begin with.

Makes a lot of sense. I agree. Was hoping it would be a good enough deal to be worth doing the restoration. I absolutely do not have the time to do it myself with 3 kids under 5. Thank you for the input.
