Wunderlich Saddle for R1100S
I have an R1100S Wunderlich saddle I'd like to sell. It has the narrower yoke underneath to fit earlier versions (99 - 01?, see this post and this post), and I believe it is the low version. The underside shows some rust on staples and discolored foam; otherwise good condition with no tears, loose threads or other blemishes. The price is $250 plus shipping.

Do you happen to know if this would fit a later bike? Mine is a 2005.

Mine's a 2004 and I rode from San Diego to San Francisco, then a month or so before removing the saddle and discovering it's for the earlier bikes, so it can definitely be used as-is. I'd say the pan winds up sitting on the lid for the tool tray and the nose butts against the tank providing support, but it's not designed to mount that way.
The "post" links I included in the ad go to a thread discussing differences. First link shows a picture of the mounting bumper widths, and the second link refers to a spacer Sargent sells (or maybe sold). I didn't pursue a spacer because I replaced the Wunderlich with a custom Corbin.

Thanks for the reply. How comfortable is it? Any idea how much lower it is than stock?

It's considerably lower than stock, and it's narrower in the nose area. I found the narrowness to be most effective at helping my short inseam - easy to flat-foot at 5'8".
Comfort is subjective, so I hesitate to go there. I wanted the nose more inclined toward the rear, hence the custom Corbin. The shot below is of the Corbin for comparison to the middle shot above. You can see more meat on the Corbin's nose area, but it's also taller (the trade-off). Corbins are made on their pan, whereas Wunderlich's are made on the OE pan, FWIW.

The Wunderlich looks good, but I chance it not fitting. This winter I think I'll remove the cover from my Corbin and try to reshape it to fit the way Dave did his. I have little to lose and I may be able to get it just right. Worth a try.

Thanks Terry. Seat fits great and I love the drop in height. I can also flat foot it at a stop which I couldn't do with the Sargent seat.
