I'm pretty sure it plugs into the upper port on the left side of the CIS airbox. The one on the right of the airbox is normally plugged I believe. See line 6 in the diagram posted by Harry.

No probs. You're right, it's either microwave or boiling water. Maybe a really long socket or similar to tap them into place over the pins. The surgical tubing idea is great!

I believe they didn't change all the way up to 1989. I'd have to go research again but there is special method for installing them as well. I have a set that I still haven't got around to installing....

That's usually connected to the outer stud on the number 3 cylinder intake runner. I can't recall what the wires are for without searching a wiring diagram. I'd assume CIS.

I wrestled with this too. I used a jack to align and push up the sway bar in position so I could get the bolts started. I wish I was smart enough to have thought to load up the wheels with ramps.

They are painted steel. I used the Stoddard gray paint. It works well. After it gets hot it changes color a little bit but it looks good.
