Hi, regretting not changing it while the motor was out this winter.

Read trunk lid.

I need to replace my read trunk lid (The previous owner had some poor putty work done) and the heat from the motor is causing the lid to crack where the body work was done.

Could it be the springs (tension)?
I've also heard of the old grease mixed with years of dust in the tunnel could cause the cable to "lag".
