Sounds like you might just need to seal it up! Get it so it will hold fluid first, then see if it clears up....an auto trans will start to slip even if its "only" a quart low....replace the pan...

Scott is correct (at least theres one there on my 944). Also, I think the VIN and this number are slightly different. The prefix is anyway.....I think the one on the firewall is a chassis no......not...
