Does the thread at clevis end influence the cable travel? I thought it only influenced the free play at clutch arm ...

I have to take my 78 911 SC to the technical inspection for the first time next month and one of the obligations is having a rear fog light.
I have found the wire foreseen for this above the left...

It's a street car and it was not loose for a long time as I expect I could have driven with it after having it retorqued.
There are also no cracks, just pitting.

Cotter pin was fine btw After having it torqued down I didn't drive anymore and decided to just replace the bearing. Let's call it another lockdown project...

I noticed during my last drive that there sometimes was a slight noise from the rear when turning. I suspected a bad wheel bearing so I jacked the car up to test the bearing by pushing...

Also had one of them clunking (not coming loose...

Also had one of them clunking (not coming loose luckily)

For peace of mind what I did:
- Clean threads
- Moon plates
- Nordlock + longer bolts
- Torqued + marked

All good now!

I hope for you it's just misalignment/bushings/... so check all those and readjust the coupler.

Does the lever go in the 5-R plane? If not, could be something (a tooth f.e.) in the gearbox...

Besides Seine gateshift, bushing/coupler refresh and Swepco I didn't do anything to it (60k km in my posession)

Recent engine drops were for oil leaks...

It feels like something is blocking / interfering in the rotation of the coupler towards those gears

Only 1st and 2nd gear due to loose bar in shift coupler

During my last run, all of a sudden (luckily close to home) I couldn't shift into 3rd anymore. I limped home in 2nd as I couldn't select 3rd / 4th gear and the shifter didn't even move into the 5-R...

What I did as I want to be 100% sure this area...

What I did as I want to be 100% sure this area remains dry:

1. Sent out the oil cooler for pressure testing (Expected to have it back today)

2. Sealed the case with Versachem Titanium Epoxy...

I would have tested with the old pressure sender (heck I wouldn't even have replaced it) if the connector pin didn't break off during reassembly ...
What you are saying on the sump screen confirms...
