On my 1988 3.2, I have 10.5 V coming from terminal 87b on the DME (going to the fuel pump) and 10.4 V at the fuel pump (both voltages when cranking). Seems low, or is this correct?...

the engine in your 1974 Mercury is leaking and you're in the middle of nowhere- go for it
