With any luck. It was a hugh relief when I pulled the plate and it was hangin on by 1 bolt! Quick, easy fix & the shifting was Much better... :)

FWIW, I bought my 84 this past November, and had some problems shifting as well. Turned out that the shift fork had come unattached & picked up the bushing bit...
