Throttle cable disconnection
In following the Bentley book for engine removal, it show that the throttle cable is disconnected through the cruise control and it is located in the left corner of the engine against the firewall. It's the servo just about the 'C'
![]() However my car does not look like that. It is an updated version and I don't want to just pull the cable out. It uses a ball & socket located externally of the servo. ![]() Can anyone advise the best way to disconnect the cable and get it through the bracket the cable goes through? Thanks in advance.

There should be a clip like this that needs to be removed before you can pry the ball out of the socket

I don't remember seeing that type of clip although it's very tight in there. I'll check again, where exactly should I be looking?

The "head" wraps around the ball and the "spike" goes through the socket and secures the ball.
If you don't see yours it may just be missing. My car was missing one of them. You may have to be forceful to release the ball from the socket...

I figured it out. Had to remove the whole cruise control assembly
![]() Three 10mm nuts and out it comes. This exposes the clip that holds the throttle cable in the bracket ![]() Using some curved needle nose pliers, I'm able to pinch the two plastic tabs together enough to get the clip through the guide ![]() And out is comes
