Hm... thats odd.
On my car, you only get that function when you press AVG MPG if you push and hold the button for two seconds. |

The economy guage below the Tach reads MPG.
I've tried every combination I can think of and the ones you all have suggested. I can change Fuel Remaining from liters. Eventhough every thing else says MPG. Oh Well

Too bad it can't be changed.
Just divide by 4 (actually 3.88 I think) to go from Gal to liters. Gary |

I can push in the little button on the low right with a pen and push avg mpg and it will flash from liters to gallons, but only for an instant

Being a bit of a techno-gadget-geek I couldn't leave this well enough alone. I've discovered two more things but am still playing:
1/ I finally achieved something with the timer. On my OBC it seems to be an alarm, although a useless one! While trying to get it to work, I noted that the time had a "T" and "AM" or "PM" which seemed strange to me for a countdown or stopwatch timer. Pressing reset, I was able to set it to a few minutes ahead of current time (By the way AM PM can be toggled with the 1000 button), and activated it by pressing the timer button itself until the red LED was on steady. When the time came, the little red LED started flashing proving it works but nothing else happened, not even a single "bong". The flashing light isn't even in the normal line of sight, so this isn't much good, besides which, an alarm has limited usefulness anyway. 2/ I confirmed the liters left in tank feature is on my OBC by pressing the 1000 and 1 at once....neat. I also found that there is a code when you press the 100 and 1. mine says 3_1.2TYP. I assume this means 3 series type 1.2 software or OBC? |

Yeah, mine reads 4.6 type. I can't get my speed warning to chime though - I set it at 45 mph, it lights up, but nothing "bongs".
Probally several more things on the OBC to see if we play w/ it long enough!! Greg H. '91 325ic ![]() |
