Trailing Arm $$$

Okay I was a little shocked to see the cost of trailing arms and control arms. How would I know if I should get a whole new arm or just the bushings? I know I need both... is it recomended or not to just do bushings? Is that just asking for trouble later?

Thoughts?

I know that it is possible to replace just the trailing arm bushings, however it is quite involved and does require the use of a press to get the old bushings out and the new ones in. I've also heard it is possible to do without completely removing the trailing arms with the use of a specialized BMW tool, although I've never seen it done up close. Seems it would be easier to just remove the arms all together.
