Clearing fault codes

My car ('87 325iS) has been flashing a fault code. When I complete the repair (O2 sensor) will the system clear the code (1222), or do I have to do something to clear it?

thanks,

Joe Stephenson

find somebody with a scanner or buy one of the bmw code reset tools that are advertised in all the sports car magazines

Larry,

Thanks for your response, but my car is an ODB1 so fault code are retreived from the check engine light. There is no port for a code reader or reset tool.

thanks

Joe
