Lightbulb ipod Theory...

Just wondering about hooking my ipod into my factory head unit...
I was thinking of getting a stacker control cable and finding the speaker feeds in it and wiring these into a headphone connector.
Then simply dropping this connector out from inside the sunglass holder and plugging it into my ipod! then the ipod acts like the CD changer feeding sound through the AUX function through my system? Mabey.

All i need to find out is a wiring diagram for the Stacker cable and does the head unit need to recieve signal on any other wires to recognise the outside source...

Any body have any ideas or info that could help with this little project?
I'm tired of the ****ty reciption my Tunecast gives and i like the sound my stock headunit supplies!

Any ideas or help would be awesome.

It's been done and there are sources on the web about it. It would be better just to buy a new headunit with an input. Controlling the ipod as a cd changer is rudimentary.

Crutchfield would happily help you if you cant find what you want on the web.
