Unhappy Cost of parts to replace timing belt

Could someone please let me know what the approximate cost of all the necessary parts for replacing the timing belt in a 1991 318i? Also what I could expect to pay for labor if I were to take it to a garage? Thanks

that is where you are wrong if it has a M40 engine it has a timing belt and they where made form '87-'91
M42 was only made in the years 1990 and 1991 they had timing chain!
but it is easy to tell the diff!
is it a 4door or a 2 door?

Yes, but a pint of ale here costs only $4.50USD

The parts for the timing belt are around $35 but most people replace the waterpump while they are "in there" and that piece is around $60.
