mirror control switch fail???

my mirror wasn't moving when I tried to adjust it. All I heard was the click noise from the mirror. Is it the switch or the mirror? thanks for any input.

If the noise is at the mirror then the switch is functioning and the problem is at the mirror.

Right - sounds like corrosion or something wrong with the mirror motors. Although there are two motors in there, and usually one stops working and the other continues to work. Is this the case, or is the mirror just dead?

Its been that way since I bought the car. Both mirrors are not working, so I thought it was the switch. Sometimes I kept on hitting on the switch and the driver side would move for a second, but only to one direction. I was thinking about getting new switch but just want to ask for help before doing so.

It is possible it is the switch and it is only contacting momentarily. I was envisioning a constant noise in the mirror. You should be able to pull the switch and test it for continuity. You could also pull the mirror and test it for power while someone runs the switch.
