haas anyone ever replace on of these before on a 325i or 325is?

What is the problem? Height adjustment, wont double latch?

what is the problem?
is this the problem, that the cable is not returning to the correct position after releasing the cable handle, such that the latch mounted to the hood, does not engage the catch at the end of the cable? |

I've never replaced it but its pretty easy access, shouldn't be too bad.
