Wiper Problem (88 e30)

I have been having this very strange problem with my wiper system. it works normally and goes through complete movements. The strange thing is that, the movement starts and ends in the 12 o'clock position as appose to the normal 9 o'clock position. Any idea what is wrong?

When your wipers are in their resting spot, remove the securing nuts and move both wipers where you want them to be and then screw the nuts back.

I can remember the details but I've heard this problem before.

Here's another different suggestion:
wipers stuck in up position
