Window keeps reversing

The motor recently burned out in my 1992 BMW 325i. I pulled the regulator and motor off, replaced the motor, put everything back in... But now the motor goes up till the last 2 inches or so, and is kind of cocked, and won't go back up, the motor reverses direction. If I roll it up slowly, and just barely go inch by inch in the last bit, it will close all the way, but how do I fix this?

It sounds like you fixed it; however, it wasn't put back perfectly. If there's any variance to the regulator or window in the track, it's going to have an extremely hard time seating back up. There's obviously something resisting it on the way up. The motor will put out up to 13V, and if it doesn't finish rotation, it will revert as a safety function in the likeliness that your dogs head or your child's hand was in the way.

Hope you get it down and can spot me when I do my passenger side that's about to take a dump.

Well, I got it fixed. After tinkering for a while, i just coated everything in grease.... It seems to have solved the problem. For now, atleast. We'll see in a week or so. The process of changing it out wasn't terrible, aside from the cost of the motor itself. Mine ended up being four hundred and change from pelican... Just a tip is to make sure everything's lubed up, or you'll have the same problem I did, I think...
