Engine code USB scan tool recomendations for a laptop?
Does anyone have a recommendation for a USB-based scan tool and software that works with Windows 7 and has good BMW specific code information?
I don't think my next laptop will have a serial port. I don't use it enough to justify bluetooth, unless it doesn't cost much more. I'd like to use it on the following: - a 1997 328i with the old round connector - a 2001 X-5 with the under-dash 16 pin connector - and a 2005 M3 Or am I better off just getting a Peake R5/FCX-3-U that connects to both types of connectors? |

The AutoEnginuity software is pretty good in my opinion, and it allows you to write to the DME as well (some others don't let you).
