There are, as yet, no decent ways to put 911 brakes on a 914 and keep the 914's four-lug pattern. So the only way to get 911 brakes is to swap to a 911 front suspension.

There is a much wider selection of decent-sized wheels of the right offset to fit a 914 in the 5x130mm bolt pattern than there is in the 4x130mm bolt pattern. Not too many places make Bug wheels any more (that's the other car that used 4x130mm), and those are pretty much all the wrong offset for our cars. But there are a whole lot of 911 wheels out there, and most of them fit pretty well.
