Remember Me?!
I ran a thread a few weeks ago for being stranded in the cold night with a failed silver Brazilian coil!
So what do I do? I order another and guess what? I install it and the darn car is backfiring, trying to come alive and it turned out it was the BRAND NEW - FAILED - BOSCH SILVER COIL MADE IN BRAZIL!!!!!
So to be a bigger jerk, I returned it to Pelican only to get a new one in the mail a few days ago. I am terrified to install it!!!!!!!!!
I am relying now on my original "black" OEM Bosch coil that could well be over 25+ years old to keep my car going with the silver one as a back up to get me home if the black one fails. Pathetic logic if you ask me!!! I will need to install it to see at least if it works.......
I just found that their are suitable replacements out there, so do some checking around.
The Brazilian Silver is not long for the history books according to Pelican. I understand that the original German tooling for this is just plain worn out and its doubtful Bosch will re-tool to supply a mess of older ignition system cars a newer coil at big expense. Maybe a petition drive is in order...............
Good hunting
