Corner balance and align the car with the drop links disconnected, then adjust them to hook the sway bars up. This prevents pre-loading the springs and making it handle weird.
Sway bars have effects in quick turn transitions like a chicane. Front stiff makes the front respond quicker initially but will have less ultimate grip in long sweepers. Front soft keeps the front wheels more equally loaded so there will be more grip and more of a tendancy for the car to rotate.
The holes further from the pivot make the sway bar effect softer.
