Installing drop links on 73s

hi and thanks in advance for help. i am installing tarret drop links on the front through the body sway bar. i noticed that when the link is adjusted just about as long as it will go, it is approx 1" shorter than the stock drop link. (1) what effect will this have on the susp. (2) i noticed there are 4 holes on the arm connected to the bar . what is the difference when installing the top of the link into the different holes. i am looking for a fairly aggressive ride, with really direct steering. does it even affect steering? the advise i received from ira was something about adjusting out the pre-load. i just figured i would know what that meant during install. i got nothing. please help.......thanks, chef

Corner balance and align the car with the drop links disconnected, then adjust them to hook the sway bars up. This prevents pre-loading the springs and making it handle weird.

Sway bars have effects in quick turn transitions like a chicane. Front stiff makes the front respond quicker initially but will have less ultimate grip in long sweepers. Front soft keeps the front wheels more equally loaded so there will be more grip and more of a tendancy for the car to rotate.

The holes further from the pivot make the sway bar effect softer.
