They cut out the centers from the 6x16's, heat up a rim, let it contract around the center, and weld it. Then they polish the whole thing and paint the centers. I believe another guy on this board had them anodize/paint a set for him.
The only other expense I had was mounting the new tires. I had a
second set made for street use (8x9x17), which are on the car now.
