Alternator problem.

So my new alternator works great. I changed it and now the alternator lights stays on and engine also. Somewhere along the line I’ve screwed up. The engine idnition won’t switch off. I have to remove the fuse to the ecu and disconnect the battery. The alternator light stays on. Charging fine. Which wire got cut or screwed up? Installed exactly as it had been.

You didn’t replace the external regulator alternator with an internal regulator alternator by any chance?

Well not this time. The one I replaced was same type but it was new to the car which before that had an external.
