Differences engine carrier 964 and 964 Turbo
Hi all,
I am converting my 964 narrowbody to a single turbo conversion. As you can see the Narrowbody has a 1 peice part (No. 1) and the turbo has a 2 piece setup (No. 11 and 12). I am wondering if I can use my 964 part or an uprated one like Rennline (suggestions?!) or if I have to change over to the 930/964 Turbo 2 peice part (and use the rennline version for example). Thanks in Advance! ![]() Rennline 964/993 non turbo: 964/993 Tubular Engine Carrier-Rennline, Inc. Rennline 930/964 Turbo: Rennline Stainless Steel Engine Mount Cross Bar - Porsche-Rennline, Inc. |

Looks like the EARLY 964 turbo carrier w/ 3.3L 930 motor hence the 930 cross-compatibility.
I'm in the same boat though, single turbo 964 N/A-T conversion. Stock carrier holding fine for now as I don't have solid mounts but I intend to add the "weld-in" reinforcement kit soon once I start turning up the boost. I would go for the actual carrier meant for your model year/body even if they do both happen to fit. Any sort of reinforcement over stock will be nice so I'd go for the easiet fit-up/least modification. |

The 964 engine console is a bit thicker than the 930 version. If using a 930 muffler or 964T catalytic converter there could be interference. If going custom shouldn't be an issue.
