@spuggy

Thanks for sharing your point of view; The entire thing started because the DTA EFI system was old very very old and very hard to find anyone to work with it, along with the center iron clutch that was due for replacement after years of work. As you mentioned once we took the engine down I started to think about selling the car but because of the uncertainty to sell or not, I decided to build it right just in case I keep it, from there to the twin plug, GT3 oil pump, and the endless list.

The car is set up at 21psi@634rwhp on E85 and at 28psi 734rwhp, I'm driving on low boost and so far no need to use the high boost. The gearbox has the stock gears, we almost went and replaced all the gears but I got cold feet and an empty wallet

Seems like the further a car gets from stock, the harder it is to sell. I think the barrier is potential poor running/no running issues should things go wrong, for future non-technical owners.
Juan's car being a narrow body might hold it back a little too, which is a shame. This car would be a excellent candidate for a conversion to a Ruf CTR clone, for example.
It's a difficult situation. We pour our souls into these cars. They essentially become part of the family in a strange way.
Good luck with the sale, Juan. Your car is beautiful. I'm hoping you find someone to appreciate it as much as you do.

Juan, the best route probably comes down to how fast you want to get rid of the car.

Your Hemmings listing didn't say anything on the suspension.

If you pulled the engine and the G50 gearbox (turning the car into a roller) you might find a buyer pretty quick for that build sheet.

Assuming that worked, you could roll the interior back to stock look, roll the fuel line setup to stock and find a more stock engine and possibly a 4 speed 915.

Yeah it would be a lot of work to do that, but I would guess that you could get more $$ in the long run. You might even be able to sell it as a roller to someone who wants to put their own engine/tranny in.

With the documentation, dyno runs, etc on the motor, you might have more luck finding a buyer that is willing to buy a modified engine, than a buyer trying to buy the car as-is.

Thanks! I've seen 1.4 bar (20 PSI, or 240-odd kPa) on E10 without a trace of knock. Which made me wonder just how far you could take that...

LOL... Yeh, I doubt there's many cars going to hang with you and that power/weight ratio...

Yeh, I've been collecting gearsets for a regear for a long time now. Even if you pick them all up at a good price, I find it's best never to add up the numbers...

Juan, did you ever sell your car? Ran across a random instagram post of two guys walking up on your car and talking about it. Asking was 90k OBO. I was like, that looks like Juan Ruiz’s car!

Juan looks like the listing link does not work anymore. Any chance you can share the details of the build if it’s still for sale.

Hey Jaun,

I have been loosely following your story. I had the 3.6 G50 rat rod that I posted in your other thread and sold on BAT. Did you ever list it there?

I think the car is a great value at your asking price. Having gone thru the whole barn find thread you got to ask yourslf even if you got the barn find for free the money spent in the build will be close to or more that what your asking price is for a car that has always been super clean
If your car had stock sport seats. The thing would really pop in your add. a lot of the potential buyers with money see those sparcos and be put off .

It is a Great value, Problem with the seats is no body is happy with just seats each person has their taste, same goes for the wheels and the list is endless so I will leave it as is, if I get to the ac that will be the only ad on, those Sparco seats are one of the most comfortable seats I ever sat on. The new owner can continue the journey
