I have a 79 930 which is currently undergoing a complete engine rebuild with some upgrades. Everything is at EBS being machined, and I need to get an idea of which path to take when it all comes back.
Will I be ok with keeping the stock fuel distributor with the these upgrades (listed below) or do I have to go ahead and upgrade to my other fuel distributor (a euro already re-worked for more fuel output). If i go to my upgraded fuel distributor I know I will need the adjustable WUR and solenoid, but I need to conserve money at this point. The question I have is can I get away without all of this until later or will I have air/fuel mixtures that could detonate my engine? Upgrades: -3.3 upgraded to 3.4 Mahle pistons and cylinders 7.5:1 compression -Twin plugged (going to block off second plug for now, but should still change the compression somewhat b/c of the additional area) -Andial Intercooler -SSI custom headers -either a K27 or K27 HF turbo Thank you in advance for any input you can give. P.S. The complete story of my car, and the rebuild (w/pics) will be posted when I am closer to the rebuild stage

Stock US fuel system components are good for at least 350RWHP, Euro can go 400RWHP. The bot-ons in your list can get you around 350RWHP; you will need head work to breach that level.

I would agree with Rarly that you would likely be okay. One point that I would make though is that you don't necessarily need both the fuel head mod and the adjustable WUR/solenoid.
I happen to have it all the car runs great now that its all dialed in but I think there are plenty of people running just the fuel head mod with good results. One thing to be sure though is that keeping the AFRs in check isn't the place you want to try and save money. Just something to think about.

From what I have seen it is a rare event for anyone to actually need the fuel head mod. The stock Euro head will support nearly 400RWHP. That is a serious power level; most folks don't go that far with their builds.
The adjustable WUR however is a useful device for even mildly modded engines. A dyno run or LM1 will tell you what your A/F readings are. If you need to tweek them the adjustable WUR is the only way it can be done. The RPM solenoid may not be needed. The A/F graphs will tell you that as well. I would not spend any money on CIS enhancements until you have an A/F graph of your setup.

Thanks guys, you were both a great help. I'll keep my stock fuel head (euro) for now until I check the A/F's

I would definitely check your afr cause I had a Euro fuel head on my 3.0L and it ran lean.
