Reaper,
Love the colour. Have attached a picture of my black 935 replica. Your car is really going to be something special. Only note (but it sounds as if you've made a plan). I agree with Van, you must fit a 935 wing! Otherwise I might copy your colour! :D http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1211828950.jpg |
Okay, the pics are going up because you guys deserve them for waiting so patiently...however the car is dirty and it makes it look fairly bad.
I REALLY need to get those wheels on the car to get that souped up VW look to go away...man this looks like an ebay special! The 911R tail lights have not been painted yet thus they mismatch the color - more to come as she comes together and gets back over to the mechanics shop. Once the windows get back in tinted she can get a bath. And yes I realize I do need a 935 tail badly...but with the motor & intercooler it gives us room for now, so when everything else is finalized it will get a 935 tail as well. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1211948621.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1211948644.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1211948668.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1211948689.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1211948705.jpg |
looks awesome, you may want some spacers for the rear wheels though.

Thx for the info Dutchie. So far I have decieded to go "Reaper style" on the color and the tail lights. I am on Kind of a different budget though :)
Jesper |

I would strongly suggest if you're going to do the satin look, get something that will aid in helping to preserve the paint etc.
PPG Black with Flexed n' Flat clear coat mixed in, its pretty cheap if you do the body prep etc. You can research online but do a rough 20% mix and you'll be good to go. |
Thank you both for your replies. I will PM (if that's OK)you both once I get a little further in my own project. Reaper thank you and sorry for the interuption in your thread.
Once again : What an awesome project. Jesper |

JSVEB: Contact me as much as you would like, i'm always excited to help a fellow enthusiast, especially when they're going to the darkside. Dutchie: That's one sexy a$$! You're car is the reason I went with the R tail lights, they just look SO right when it comes to satin paint. Cookie: MORE PICS PLEASE!!!! Wonderful clone of the 935, I wanted to initally go this route but figured it would be impractical for a daily driver...but my God that thing is stunningly beautiful! |
We decided to go without mirrors and just use a rear view camera, the holes in the doors will be welded up and repainted in the near future.
Car covers were never meant to be used on such madness... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1212486473.jpg And here she is cleaned up a little... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1212486568.jpg The color varies from what angle you're looking at it at...the tail lights came out lighter than the rest so they're getting repainted currently. Also the fenders front and rear are getting undercoating to help protect the fiberglass and to give it a new black color underneath. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1212486615.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1212486705.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1212486741.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1212486775.jpg Tail...doesn't look so bad painted huh? As I stated previously i'll end up with a 935 tail also, but due to the current intercooler this one is mandatory until I have another one fabbed up. Again, the tail lights are getting repainted along with the reflector replacement section. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1212486792.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1212486834.jpg Alcantara headliner is at the shop, they finished the sunroof this weekend, and i'll have more shots up when they finish installing along with the carpet etc. Robert Budd of the 928 Leather Shop did the headliner, door sills and rear quarter window trim in Alcantara. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1212487009.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1212487027.jpg Lots more work to be done but the hard part is almost all done. |

Gabriel i noticed the rubber around the R lights i think that is the stock rubber used with the normal lenses. If you leave it out they will mount flush with the bodywork and look much better i think. I agree on the tail looks great !
