Were getting closer, its almost on the ground.
|
I can see how terribly adorable mean machine that will be. In my opinion your project has a really strong stamina and character growing out about your satin black lady. She will be a serious ***** :D.
When you get it once done, I really propose you to go to smartracingproducts 935 suspension or something similar to it, but that you can do after any time.... Keep going! The esperiences both 915 and 930 Hargett are only great when you once get the setup right. |
Reap, looks like the factory is following your lead: Pix from the ringhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1215143632.jpg
Anything new? Would those 355's fit the 15 wide rim? |
Is this the mysterious 911 GT3 RS that is lapping the Gruene Holle in 7:15 and scaring the pants off factory Corvette racers and the Nissan boys?:D
|
The shop is trying 1 more guy to mount the tire to the rim, i'll know by next week. If not i'll end up having a guy CNC a copy of the outter rim and reduce the size in width by 1 inch to allow the tires to fit.
The GT3 looks sweet...this car is that ones Daddy though :) |
Happy 4th of July!!!
Well here was my birthday wish come true, the shop was able to get the 355/25/19 mounted on the rear rim!!!
It has a small gap between the tire and the rim on the inside and outside, but with the wheels powdercoated black it should look just fine. I didn't want to destroy or modify the original 935 wheels, so this is a dream come true! BTW this is one wide mother ufcker  Enjoy: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1215229820.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1215229842.jpg Notice the width of the dually tires behind it...very similar in size... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1215229863.jpg |
|
That is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Wasn't that look popular back in the 90's?
Ha! Just yankin' your chain. Glad it worked out as 935 wheels cannot be that plentiful. |
Did anyone say Alcantara?
Here's the interior progress:
Fred decided that the old rear deck needed to be remade in foam to delete the speaker holes, and I think the whole thing came out great. The rear seat bases are staying in, they will be recovered in leather/alcantara as well, but that's once the rest of the interior is buttoned up. I think that I will be installing Rennline Aluminum Track Mats from our host though... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1216088284.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1216088313.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1216088335.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1216088364.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1216088394.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1216088437.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1216088455.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1216088475.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1216088510.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1216088541.jpg |

God I love the paint.
That thing looks like a spaceship. |
Please more pictures of the seat black alcantara with orange stiching?
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1216095287.jpg I have been looking for these exact seats for my project. I am waiting for the powder coater to finish my roll bar to match. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1216095408.jpg |
wow it's really coming together, can't wait to see it sittiing on those 935 wheels.
|
Whtnkls911: the seats are from Max Speed Motorsports, I bought them through their ebay store (I know, I know) but they're real high quality pieces. I'll post more pics of the seats when I get them tomorrow. The shop will have both seats installed by then.

Ronald McDonald and Friends...
Well somewhere Fred found wheel fans for the 17" fronts and 19" rears, instead of the conical rear wheel fans. Interesting look, so we'll end up polishing the wheel halves IMSA style, but have these fans painted satin black so all you'll see is a small polished lip when they're on.
So what does everyone think about my rear tires? Too skinny?:eek::eek: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1216271416.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1216271385.jpg |
Mamma Mia! like the billboard in the background says. Looking good.
|
Nice for the track and show, but it would be a shame to hide such beautiful and historically unique wheels behind those halves. Looking good Reap. BTW, sent reply about X-country and visiting NC. DOO IT!
|
Yo Reap --> LOOKING REALLY GOOD!!!
You still planning on Houston by Thanksgiving? Gotta plan a GTG. Any thoughts? |
Thanks Jeremy :) I'm still dying to see your car in person though. I'll be driving from California and hitting houson around the 25th or 26th. I've been trying to think of stuff to do, maybe just a get together at Market Street in the Woodlands or something for a park and show. I dunno, but we def. have to do something fun!
I'm trying to think of a senic drive area to blast away for a few hours like they do in California on Thanksgiving etc. but nothing comes to mind. |
