No pressure right? Ha!
You do realize that while you're trying to get the power down in first gear I'll be sprinting away in second. ;)

You gotta know I'd love to be there and will if my schedule allows it. Incredible machines, cool air and twisty roads are a turbo owner's nervana. The board will throw you all under a bus if ample pictures are not posted.

And there will be more incriminating photos and vids than is possible to imagine before hand...

And your right, no pressure...hahahaha SmileWavy

So the oil coolers are on, the fans haven't been mounted yet to the ones in the driver's and passenger's footwell.

Okay, so she's sitting on the ground right now, but just a heads up the driver's side wheel is off as the hub is with the Engineer guy to custom fab up the hats needed for the rotors.

The wing is love or hate but its functional.

And yes the 315/35/17's fit under the fender using 7" inner and 3.5" outer rim BBS rim halves.

The bumper hasn't been fully reinstalled so that's why there are gaps on the drivers side with the fender.

The height appears high in the rear but we're looking into that, the ride height in the front is right on for the lowest setting, we're going to raise it up slightly for street use.

Christamighty, Gab, you're gonna have forearms to size of popeye's from manhandling that thing by the time you get here! Between the rear 355's and front 315's, that's a lot of meat on the hoof. Hope those guys have a chance to do some shakedown time to get the suspension dialed in somewhat before you get there.

That front shot looks familiar;)

OMG!!! Gab, that thing is taking on a seriously sinister look!!

Loving the wheels.. they look even better in place!

Paul

Finnbar McKenna 11-08-2008 09:52 AM

I LOVE everything.. that tail set up has yet to grow on me... MAN that is ONE SWEET F'ing MACHINE!

Reaper930 11-08-2008 10:21 AM

Glad you guys dig it :) And yeah, the tail is kinda fugly, but at the same time, the functionality of it attracts me...I dunno...its carbon fiber so I can't "kick it out of bed" haha.

Justin: Yeah there' hoping for dyno and suspension tuning next week...if they don't get arrested doing the testing hahaha.

Thanks Paul - Again, your great advice really paid off on the completion end. Ole Skool IMSA baby!

Reaper930 11-08-2008 11:42 AM

Here's my photo shopped version of "Black Betty" that I want on the car but I can't get anyone to make me a decal of it to try out.

Any ideas?

dial 911 11-08-2008 06:20 PM

your car is coming along real nice! i especially like the rear wing. it conveys a message to small animals that if they are not eaten up, they will be sliced up.

Reaper930 11-08-2008 07:56 PM

Dial: hahaha hells yeah man - I never thought of it that way but if they manage to dodge the 8 other intakes...she "slices and dices even makes julian fries!!!!"

maximo: glad you like it

Thanks for the info Turboo934

Mike: yeah...I didn't know if we'd be able to do it but I wanted it to feel like a go kart...hehehehe and I love big rubber, to me a car's status as "legendary" boils down to the attitude and size of the rear tires :D

Video Clip of Motor Running

rsrmike 11-09-2008 04:52 AM

Man that is a sweet sound! I was expecting it to be more of hollow "blop blop" sound but that has a nice raspy note more like a NA car, or a turbo w/ SSI's.

Throw in the whistle from the puffers and it's just SICK!

I have to see this car in person one day...

RarlyL8 11-09-2008 05:38 AM

My God that thing growls!

Finnbar McKenna 11-09-2008 06:38 AM

GOOD GAWD son you're going to put your eye out with that Mother F'er! I LOVE that motor!!!!!!!!! hahahahha! FANTASTIC!!!

Finnbar McKenna 11-09-2008 06:39 AM

Damn!! I can't stop listening to it!!!!!!

juicersr 11-09-2008 06:40 AM

Total sickness Gab. The look, the sound, everything spot on. U need to do a different version of the vid starting when it's being lowered on the lift a/ lights on, set to theme of '2001 space oddessy' Those flamethrowers rock!!

mooney265 11-09-2008 06:48 AM

Q: What kind of bulbs are you using in those gauges? They seem a whole lot brighter than my red gauges... I can hardly see mine when turned all the way up...

Please let me know where you purchased the bulbs... Thanks

Reaper930 11-09-2008 07:21 AM

Shannon: Had my gauges done by North Hollywood Speedo - they did the red LED upgrade (on red background which was recommened against by Hartmut but he did what I asked anyways). Its a few hundred in parts and labor but WELL worth it for the lighting upgrade. Hartmut is the best.

I wanted my night vision to go unimpeaded by white light so the red LED's were mandatory.

Finnbar: Me too! Its been on my playlist all day over and over! I can't believe the bark!

Brian: Glad it gets your approval, I was nervous about it but Fred did a great job. Now to see if she's a true flame thrower :P

Justin: I was thinking the exact same thing, there will be so many vids and pics of this thing before the end of December its going to be insane.

Mike: You're going to see it one day man, and we'll have some fun. Beer's on me too.

rsrmike 11-09-2008 07:26 AM

LOL Juice,

When I think about a soundtrack, " New World Order" by Ministry comes to mind, and I'm not even a metal head:eek:

I don't think the engine can be topped in terms of sound though:)

I would LOVe to be there when you hit WOT and the gates open up on that beast!!! people from a mile away will think the DEVIL himself has come to town!!!! I don't often say it!! but GD! that is wicked!!!!!!!!

jsveb 11-09-2008 10:15 AM

Hi
that is...off the chain dude... simply awesome. I have been faithfully following this build. Now it is time for another comment.

I didn't comment on those red gauges to begin with. I honestly didn't like the look of it, but who am I to pick on a build like that -But oh my what a revelation. It looks so cool all lit...

totally dig the night vision theme, have you checked the wavelength of those LED's :-)

A future update could include a switch which would enable Night Vision Goggle compatible lighting. Going all dark using NVG's (closed circuit offcourse) would be awesome in a monster like that just a crazy thought - next winter...maybe :-)

To sum up my impression: It is so much above what I ever imagined what I would get to see once I discovered this awesome Forum.

I must see this vehicle someday. It's on my to do list

Grats
Jesper

The Beast Lives!!!

Reaper930 11-09-2008 06:41 PM

Jesper, thanks man. On the gauges I kind of regretted doing them in red once they came back from the shop, they were very bright, but I had previewed them in the dark with the red LED's and that's what sold me. Glad you stuck around to see it this far, always great to have input on what you thought it would be versus what its become. If you're ever in the US let me know and we'll see if we can't meet up :)

Paul: You're funny dude.

Mike: That's one heck of a compliment man! I'm still just so suprised at the "bark" the motor has when the throttle is blipped, I never thought a turbo motor could sound like that.

Thanks guys for all the kind words - I'm just happy that ya'll get the same enjoyment out of this that I have...it wouldn't have been if this forum didn't exist I can tell you that.

:D:D:D That's actually something my father and I have been discussing - plus it'll give me something to do this next year SmileWavy

krasuskyp 11-09-2008 08:09 PM

Gabriel-

Like everyone, I have been following your build for the past year and after viewing that vid I finally just have to say:

***_JEEBUS_H_C_ON_A_F'N_POPSICLE_STICK_***

Man, I could listen to that soundtrack all day - while getting lost in a matteblack gaze of uberosity!!! My f'n golly!

The sound just cracks me the F up - wowzer.

I'm especially impressed with the evident off-idle throttle response. For a forced induction car that's just silly. The thing barks and spits and snorts and rips and snarls. Man o f'n man, I'm devolving to (choose) Beavis on candy / JoJo The Idiot Circus Boy merely typing this.

You, my friend, must be beside yourself at this point - seeing your creation come to life nearly fully outfitted - with such execution and result.

Kudos. Looking forward to ohsomuch more as you near the build-end... and the beginning of life with it. Sure wish CT wasn't so friggin far from yourses guyzez NC run in the coming weeks - dayum just dayum.

Keep up the good work.

cl8ton 11-09-2008 08:59 PM

Wow Gabriel, that thing is sounding very Tifosi, this is a good thing!
We need a vid of a 150/mph drive by, pretty dam soon :D

VZ935 11-10-2008 01:10 AM

Car is really coming along and looking good ! Congratulations.. I probably missed it but what are the specs on the motor and what did it dyno at ? I just dyno'd my new motor last week. can't wait to get it in the car next week ! It's a nice feeling isn't it :)

Reaper930 11-10-2008 02:23 AM

Paul: Very happy it makes you feel that way - and yes, "beside myself" is an understatement...I never thought a turbo motor could sound like this...I'm in love.

Rod: Video coming up in T minues 14 days....:D

Van: The motor dyno'd at 634 rwhp at 1 bar and 850+ rwhp at 1.6 bar when the last clutch setup let go., it was still climbing when it went and was at over 850 so we're sure it will be in the 850-900 range at the wheels.

Now she has the tilton 3 plate clutch setup with hydraulic cylinders etc. that's good to 1500 hp so I won't have to worry about the clutch slipping and eating its lunch.

Pretty cool stuff your engine kicks out _O_. It really spools early up with nice torque... mine starts to rock no sooner than 3000rpm, but it rocks all the way up to 7800rpm.
Also you got your front wheels fit nice way to the wheel archs. Rear wheels I quess will sink deep after the engine installation... I would try to build your car to very horizontal position and be careful that the back of the car doesn't look higher than front. Makes car look sleek and purpose build rather than home tuning to lift rear high. I know some street cars especially in States do have design and intention to be rear up, but it really doesn't suit well to race bred Porsche.
Your car is coming out very gorgeous way, man.

rsrmike 11-10-2008 05:55 AM

I wonder what that 275hp/tq gain between 3000-4000 rpm feels like?? Good thing you stuck with a 4 speed... That baby's gonna need something to pull against. Dear god!
Is the gearing stock 930?

Reaper930 11-10-2008 06:00 AM

Stock 930 gearing with quaife differential :)

I can't imagine how fast this is going to feel...my 362 bhp BMW 550i feels fast....
