Hell yea! Disreguard, I guess I missed that part somewhere... my bad Looking good! |
Mike - naw that's the first I think I've ever stated about it. I'm just not as gung ho about it as I am the wheels etc.
Just talked to Weidman's yesterday and they're assembling the rear rims and test fitting everything and they're painting the centers (front and rear) today. Rear wheels should be done and mounted in the next couple of days. BBS in GA just shipped out my new rim halves for the front so that way I can keep the 315mm wide tire up there...she should be on the ground getting her ride height finalized in the next two weeks. The motor fired up today....I can't post the video due to the fact that the US Government blocks video sites over here on our computers (not a bad thing and its understandable) but MY DEAR GOD...its not loud...it shakes the very ground you stand on....its quite possibly the most intoxicating sound i've ever heard. I've heard the 935's and 934's on video, and while they're very similar (and just freakin' awesome) this has more of a gutteral lope when idling probably due to almost an extra liter of displacement. |
So the 964 and the 964t only have one oil filter?
|
Actually, there are two.

A little taste of 'Reaper Madness.' Uploaded a clip of the start-up that Gabriel had sent me onto my youtube site. A little shaky, but you get the gist... think the camera guy was $hitting his pants.

There's a problem with that video......it's too damn short!!! Sounds great. Nice work there. :) |
Sweet!- I'm sure no video can do that beast justice, would love to see it in person...
Hey dave, that pic from Pet is for the NA 964... 965 still only has one filter;) There is heater plumbing where that filter would be on a 965. |
Thanks for posting the vid Justin.
And correct that the video only captures the resonnance off the shop etc. Fred told me when I called him up that the bass didn't transfer through at all, it shakes the ground as you can feel the vibrations in your feet. :) |
Intercooler is on, should have pics from Weidman's tomorrow - he's buttoning up the wheels now (centers were painted yesterday).
Next step is the exhaust, we're going to mate 3" tubes to vband clamps so I can have two interchangable exhaust systems (quite and loud) but I know i won't be using the quiet setup often :). http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1225360909.jpg |
All I can say is wow.
|
i love the gigantic intercooler!

Some Pics I forgot to post up:

Wow, uh, yea, totally disregaud my oil cooler comments!! That's gonna be awesome.
You might could fit a hobbs hour meter in that rectangular hole above the Knock meter... Looking good dude. I sure wish I could join you guys in the mountains... Any chance you'll be cruising through AL on the way? P.M. if so, I might could snag the RUF and come play tag for a bit on the way... Mike |

Gab, where did your guy source those turn signals? I need to put something similar on the sides of my 908 project in order to pass inspection. Diggin the boost management set-up and execution. Gonna see how my old-skool system works, but the TEC-Gt system allows upgrading to something like yours if desired. |
What oil cooler is that? Where did you get it?
Thanks http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1225663735.jpg |
RsrMike: Glad you dig it my friend :) and I was thinking about the hour meter, but I don't know if we'll have time to set it up before I pick it up...so many little things going on.
Justin: Not sure on the signals, pretty sure they're motorcycle pieces, I'll have to dig through my e-receipts and get back with ya...and yes - the inspection trolls will be trying to keep me off the roads! Too bad my 6 point harnesses and truss are all DOT approved! Whtnkls911: Not sure on the cooler - SETRAB I think is the maker - if you want call 818 787 7187 and talk to Fred for specs etc. He's got all the info on the coolers. |
blinkers look like either motorcycle parts or the front fender marker lights from an old VW bug.
|
Blinkers look like pickup truck cab running lights to me?

Okay so along the way in polishing the wheels, Harvey and I spoke about pits and scars on the outer rim halves from the wheel fans and racing in general. We talked about adding material to them to fully polish them out but we were both in fast agreement that instead of hiding and removing their previous life's work - we were to leave it on display with a light polish...a tribute to battles fought and won.
I do have to say that my dealings with Weidman's wheels has been BEYOND PERFECT...Harvey is one of the nicest guys I've ever had the pleasure of working with and does such a fantastic job that I would never hesitate to use his services again...always up front and to the point on every subject. When Harvey was polishing my wheels he noticed an odd marking/stamping in the rim half...so he though it good to take a pic and send to me...can you make out the lettering? K R E M E R.... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1225776697.jpg This is just another tribute to Harvey's highly sensitive analysis of every part of everything he does, I can garuntee if anyone else had been redoing these wheels not only would they not be so perfect but that little marking would have been polished out. Behold the delight that is Harvey Weidman's work...I'm not an emotional person, but I'm getting misty-eyed just looking at these pictures... Exhaust Complete, tail now closes :) Outlets are 3" enlarged from the slightly smaller T3 hotside flange. Transition was handled with the pieces Fred is welding on.
