Okay guys its time for the headlights on the Blackbird...
What's the best 7" headlight that has high and low beam that offers tons of light output? I've tossed around the idea of going with projectors but it just won't look right...and while I almost never go with anything stock styled...maybe they just did it right on the 935's. So any advice?

H4's but upgrade the wiring and solinoids to handle higher wattage bulbs.

Cibie H-4's are some of the brightest lamps I've seen when they are wired right.

Cibie or Marchels with the 80/100 watt bulbs.
As earlier stated, upgrade the wiring and add relays. I've done an upgrade in the past where we added a small harness w/relay which basically takes the current away from the switch except for on/off. Everything else left normal. I'll post that Autozone part # for you later tonight or the weekend. Also, I'll check my stash and see if I've got any of those 7" H4s left. Paul

I may have attributed Flame thrower to the wrong brand. I've had the Lucars also, both came on the cars when I got them. Of all the ones I.ve had, for high speed driving, Marshal . They focus on distance rather than the sides of the road. If you live where wild animals migrate from the sides they may not the best.

Dude, go with xenon HID's. The crappy old lights suck big time compared to what is available today. If you do it right you can fit them in the stock housing and make them look right. Plus for some extra trick look, powdercoat the headlight housings satin or flat black. It looks great.

Hey Reaper,
Looking good man, I can't believe you are getting down to the headlights now!! I assume you are putting them in the bumper as they were in a 935?? Have you ever heard how a pothole looks like a cratar w/ the lights that low? It does give you some funky effects at night, however, this may help if you are so inclined, http://www.visualeyes.se/ I haven't tried them but they look trick, it might help ALOT. take care

Mike,
thanks for the link, here's the hole in the bumper the lights will be going in. I decided to stick with 7" round setup for the housing but Fred is going to try to hook up some powerful high/low beams. Thanks for all the suggestions guys...the next month is going to be a very exciting one ![]() ![]() ![]()

Trial lights before painting...the light housings will be black with xenon HID setup in the housing. Thanks for the suggestions, it helped me tell the shop what I wanted.

Here is a newer website for those windshield mounted lights:
http://www.rayzerwidebeams.com/?page=home I didn't know they cost a grand, geez. I would think you could fabricate them for less than that? I still say you will need/want something like this Reaper, That is gonna be crazy at night... Bumper mounted headlights suck at night no matter how bright

Not sure how much the headlight covers are but you may want to think about some kind of clear flexible stick on material you can easily cover the headlight covers with. That low, you are bound to get a lot of road rash on them. I've seen some for H4's etc so maybe you can find the material and cut to fit?
