alignment set up for street driivig?
I will put new disc break tomorrow so I just wonder what is your best suspension alignment set up for mostly street driving 930 from 1988 with 17" wheels 225x45 and 255x40?
Any experience welcome! ![]()

Your tires are reasonably close to 245/45/16s and 225/50/16s in width and for the street the straight up factory alignments settings work great.
One of the secrets for running bigger than OEM wheels on the 930 according to Bruce Anderson is that the tires really should have a flat profile on the road because the camber on the 930 changes somewhat in corners and basically the most important thing becomes keeping the tire flush on the road surface. Basically a conservative setting works fine with bigger tires and gives you good grip with much less nervousness and hunting of the front end. |

I run 11x18's on the rear and 9x18's on the front. My camber is too negative for street driving and I'm experiencing premature wear on the inside of my tyres
![]() My car has been lowered too, so I doubt it's possible to "dial-out" any excess negative camber ![]()

Lowering the front will definitely have an effect on your camber. You probably have too much negative camber and it can be corrected easily by a good alignment shop. Have them check the toe while they're at it. If you're driving mostly street/highway, -0.5 (negative) degrees camber will work very well.

So finally I have -1.5 back and -1.0 front . I trying to get 0 to -0.5 front but it was not possible as I cold have only -1.0 on left side so decide to have both L and R -1.0 on front. Toe - like factory spec. I have make maybe 50 miles as far have good feedback from drive so works.
By the way any idea what could happen that I couldn't reach 0.0 camber on front.

Toe has a HUGE impact on steering feel. I have noticed this in the last two 911s I've owned, and consequently have become an obsessive DIY alignment'er.
Specifically, my cars both came to me with excessive toe-in, which made the steering turn-in very responsive, almost darty, but the on-center feel was wooden and numb. I have dialed out to nearly 0-toe (just a couple mm) and suddenly the on-center feel, even with my 964 power steering comes ALIVE!!! Turn-in response is a lot more linear and I can go down the freeway with the wheel between my thumb and index finger and feel the car track the road crown. Next I'm going to start messing with rear toe, though I will definitely keep more toe out back for the sake of stability.

I don't think you'd like 0 camber. It will not feel good when trying to corner. IMO -0.1 is a good compromise for cornering, braking and tyre wear.
How is your straight line braking at -1.0 ? I bet you can lock up your front wheels way too easily? Maybe you can't get near 0 due to being really low or something has been hit... You could try removing some metal from your inner wings... What angle could you get on the opposite side?

I dont like to have 0 camber I only try to set it for proof. I could get left side around -0.9 and right -0.5 so I decided to have -1.0 both side.
I exchange front and rear disc same time so it break good now and didn't lock too fast.
