More unanswered questions. You may well have noticed I have sudden interest in this! I already have numerous parts so am really interested in some of the solutions used to solve the problems.
JBL-if you see this-I know you posted details of your installation and is of real interest as to how it fitted. I have K16's and are familiar with 993 TT's so prefer to stay close to that system if possible. Can you point me to where you have posted details? Interested in any TT set-ups |

Hello Red, the set up on mine is simply stock 993tt with muffler bypass pipes, we cut the stock cats out and fitted 100cell units, basically that is it. I haven't done a start to finish thread on Pelican yet, i was going to wait until i got some more done to the car, when i get time later i may sit down and do it. There is a long thread on Rennlist, and a shorter one on Pistonheads if you do a search. I'll do one on here though for referrence, it's a pain in the arse to get the 993tt engine in but i think it's probably easier than some of the EFI conversions i've seen, plus you have all the 993tt "off the shelf" stuff to choose from up to around 520bhp with Motronic and stock engine and different cams.
The exhaust hangs a little odd, i'll take some pics so you can see, it's fine though, no problem with ground clearance etc, just doesn't sit tight like you may expect

JBL-- how did the clearances go re turbos etc to get them to fit? Did you have to alter anything or did engine just bolt in?
I will find on PH and Rennlist. |

Red, remember i simply fitted a 993tt engine, i didn't try and fit 993tt stuff on my 930 lump. The turbos had lots of room, we had to fit a 993tt oil tank in the rear right wheel well as the right hand turbo wouldn't fit with the 930 oil tank in the way. Once that was done there was plenty of space, you don't have room for 993tt mufflers though so you have to go for the little muffler bypass pipes. I wanted to run with no cats, but with no cats and no mufflers it was too loud and sounded like a boat. With the 100 cell cats and muffler bypass it's ok, still a little on the loud side but you learn to like it, there is no droan whilst driving and you can hear the turbos spooling which is nice. Other than that it's quite straight forward, our biggest hurdle was fitting the 993tt engine onto the 4 speed box, and getting the starter to work with whatever flywheel and clutch we decided on, that was a pain in the arse and the engine and gearbox went in and out about four times before we got it right.
Paul at Northway is a wiring genius so all that side was made to look easy, i bet it wasn't though
