Fri. quiz: Name That Header

Iiiiiiiitttt'ssss FRIIIIII DAAAAAAYYYY!!! Time for some fun.

Was @ my packrat friend's barn last night shagging my Momo wheel off one of his (many) 914's. He's got these up on the wall. Guesses?

They're *so* friggin' gnarly, I was getting full flow fondling them - it's bizarre how disturbingly erotic (in a petrolhead sorta way you pervs) having these things in your hands can be - they're so smooth, soft, sensual. I know, weird - but just telling it like it is 8-).

He's a madman - love it.

Bueller?

8-)

914/6. Are you asking who the manufacturer is?

Good guess. I'm told their something else (quite more exotic) - unless he's mistaken(?). First 2 pics should help (orientation). 914/6s are flat / straight out.

The blue 914 beneath is just coincidental - an opportune table (a white 351'd 914 is under the cover to the right, next to a yellow Buick 3.5V6'd one 8-). He's a nutter).

But headers have nothing to do with a 914 - well - as he says...

Didn't see the angle. Does look like they are made for a HO6. 90x racecar?

HMM Let's look at the clues...

6 cylinder.
mid engine.
expansion joints near the ends.
Appears to be turbo application.
Bend upwards relative to exhaust port mount to possibly clear rear suspension elements or driveshafts.

My Guess!
956/962?

Looking at the first photo, the headers must be reversed in their layout where left is right and right is left?

Guess: 935 Twin Turbo?

They look 935 to me, since the 935 mounted the turbo right off the midline of the crank wheel.

Great guesses guys.

Jamie / Jim F... dingdingdingdingding!

***962***

Pretty neat to play around with - he's got them collecting dust on the barn wall, I'm trying to convince them they belong in the living room above the fireplace heh heh. Hey, he's a bachelor 8-).

Just beautiful.
