				Need source for Flame rings

Two flame rings on my race engine are broken and I need replacements. I am not the original owner/builder of this engine and I don't know where these were sourced. If you know of a good source please let me know ASAP. My heads and cylinders are already cut for my current set so the replacements need to be the same specs.

				Thanks

I would try JB Racing in Fla or Ollies in CA.

You will have to supply them with percise measurements of maybe even send them the cylinders and have them spec & press them in. Oh, or sned them the broken rings for spec. Paul

I am quite certain they're simply a metaphor for the ever deepening love Johnny Cash held for June Carter, even wrote a song about them if I'm not mistaken! Can be downloaded nowadays with little or no cost!

It's most likely a Nirist type ring used, there is tons of info on Rennlist if you do a search for either head sealing or flame rings

JB Racing did mine, but like most all shops, you'll need to provide your heads and cylinders so they can match your existing cut-outs or cut new ones. In any event, choose a shop that has done them with success - it's a very precise part and you cannot afford to experiment (material used, affects on squish, cutting into your heads and cylinders to name a few).

I would use Verdan tool in Jersey- thats who I have always used with success. Im sure that JB would do just fine as they do stellar work, I am just throwing out another suggestion...

JB racing did mine. Ask for Mike he will take care of you. I used Verdan for my crankshaft repair, and had it repaired again by JB racing

Just found out Verden previously did the mod on my heads. I am going to send them back to them since they have the original specs. More bad news though: Magnafluxed my crank and it is cracked. More money I wasn't planning on spending.

Yep. It was the best $38.50 I have spent in a long time even though the results were less than exciting. LOL
