door lock help

hellllp!!! cant lock the doors on my 87. i took both door panels off, nothing unplugged, checked the large relay for the alarm/doorlocks, they worked great for the past year and now they wont lock#$@^! they do unlock together from either door. any help? thanks guys

Frank, do you have an electrical diagram ? there's on online here at Pelican...
are they trying to lock ? the relays making any noise at all ?

they make no noise at all while trying to lock, but they do when unlocking

Hey Frank, Have you tried pugging the the central locking switch from the center console back in yet?
It's a momentary switch that grounds the actuator circut and probably not the problem but maybe try it to see if it still locks the doors from the inside.

I did a search on the technical forum saying "power door lock problem".
Lots more people on that forum and the central locking system is the same.

Some people have found an actuator in one of the doors was out of adjustment so it thought the door wasn't closed all the way and latched, and another guy took apart the controller under the cowl on the passenger side we looked at last night and resoldered the connections on the circut board and that fixed it.

yepper i guess thats it. apparently someone/PO cracked it almost in half still don't know how it worked for a year or two like that but i guess stranger things have happened. scared to see what that thing goes for!!!!!!!
