Yeah, I coulda and maybe shoulda done that, but it was no big deal to grind out the slot. Plus I wasn't sure what a full tooth-worth would do, maybe puting me to the stops on the other other end of the slot. Probably should have checked it out. If I ever want more advance beyond whatever I now have, I'll have to call on the tooth fairy.

I found the bottom of the other end of the slotted aluminum flange hitting the engine tin when trying to turn the distributor farther clockwise so I ground a small angled section off that far bottom corner you can't see.
It turns clockwise all the way easily now. More weight loss too... |
