On the project a few people have been asking who's doing the work etc. I'm working with great guys down in Van Nuys at Valley European, Fred is the man! I've lurked for a bit, asked quite a few questions etc, to which RarlyL8 has helped a ton. The final aspects of the project look something like this: Body: Satin Black Paint (interior/exterior/engine bay/trunk) Shaved Drip Rails Factory 935 front bumper with HID driving lights Factory 935 fiberglass front fenders (+2" per side) w/o headlights 1975 911 RSR 15" vented rear quarters 1975 911 RSR 15" version rear bumper with exhaust notches removed 911 R LED Tail Lights (Street Version from Rebel Racing) A.I.R. 911 GTR Tail for 930 with 70" & aluminum uprights A.I.R. 911 GTR Rocker Panels Widebody911's carbon fiber center reflector replacement 935 Mirrors Interior: The following done by Robert Budd of The 928 Leather Shop -Dash Upper recovered in black Alcantara with orange french seams -Dash Lower recovered in black Alcantara with orange french seams -Door & quarter window sills recovered in black Alcantara with orange french seams Carbon Fiber GT3 seats in black Alcantara with orange french seams Carbon Fiber RS door panels Carbon Fiber gauge backing & dash kit Carbon Fiber entry plates with PORSCHE on them Recalibrated Gauges @ North Hollywood Speedo - Orange Faces on all - Tachometer zero out in 6 o'clock position - Speedometer rescreened to 220 mph - Speedometer zero out in 6 o'clock position - LED lighting upgrade - Boost gauge in place of clock Restore lower dash & all buttons/pulls Radio Delete Heater Delete Sun visor delete (vinyl sunstrip on windshield) Hargett 930 Shifter Setup Rennline Adjustable Pedal setup (silver with rubber inserts & black heel toe extensions) Rennline Aluminum floor boards driver & passenger (black with no holes) RSR thin carpet with deleted sound deadening New headliner Momo Protipo steering wheel in Alcantara Brey Krause Harness Truss 5 point safety belts Suspension & Brakes: Triangulated front strut bar Welded in brace for rear shock towers RSR bump steer kit RSR style coilover suspension front & rear Bilstien sport shocks Raised spindles Delete torsion bars 993tt brake setup @ all 4 corners Filtered ducting to brakes via front scoops & side intakes Wheels/Tires: FACTORY ORIGINAL 935 CENTERLOCK HUBS & SPINDLES Magnesium BBS centerlock wheels 16 x 11" fronts & 19 x 14" rears, using Pirelli 355/25/19's for street and Vintage rain slicks for show. Motor & Tranny: 3.3 ltr Turbo Large front mount intercooler Twin Plug Ignition EFI for fuel delivery 3.2 liter manifold Turbos from Imagine Auto Tial 46mm wastegates Custom Exhaust Undecided on headers Undecided on intercooler Standard rebuilt 4 speed tranny Goal is 600rwhp, (shop has a dyno so we'll know when its built) Key is reliability and drivability. Daaaaaaayam, makes that 315 look like a 225!
Once those huge flairs are on and the car is lowered that is gonna look soooo badass. Can't wait to see the results!

The shop guys wanted to have some fun so they taped the rear quarters on to judge fitment, which doesn't appear too bad.
The front fenders were supposed to have louvers like the original 935s, so I'm working with AIR to solve that problem. All in all it looks like the rear tires will fit with no problems...however the quarters don't look as wide as I thought they would. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

WOW!
I have always wondered why the widebody RSR is so under-represented in the Porsche community. Talk about a wild ride! |

There was a thread here recently that stated where you could buy fender extensions if you want to widen them some more.

Awesome project... one suggestion though is rather than tackling the interior later, if you strip it now you can have it re-sprayed along with the exterior in one stroke.

The shop I'm dealing with will do nothing other than perfect work, they would refuse to do a simple respray if it didn't involve gutting the ENTIRE car to do so. The entire chassis will be sprayed black (satin for the interior, trunk & engine bay), then possibly a gloss on the exterior. I'll be going with a carbon fiber dash and gauge backing, carbon door panels & window sills, RS carpet, Hargett shifter and some other goodies. The entire car is being gone over and I'll have more updates for everyone here in about a week or so as the shop is getting into it once again.

Since I finally decided that louvers are the way to go, here is a photo shop provided by Testarossa (of Rennlist) of how the satin paint will look. I'm not going to settle for a greyish or lighter appearing black, it will be as pictured for the effect I want. The wheels will be the 5 spoke also in satin black, the stock wheels were left alone in the picture as to provide a reference and contrast to the paint.
With a satin paint I feel that we'll be able to pull off the RSR rear body work successfully without seeming too outlandish, while having a distinctly beautiful aural soundtrack. This is the certain "black hole" effect I want to instill in the viewer, I hate being in something shiny and attention grabbing...I like it when something takes a second or third look to realize its truly something special, something epic... Opinions are welcome, and again the body work will be done shortly, this is just a teaser of what's in my mind's eye. ![]()

Explain again how paint is going to make that car not look outlandish? Ha!
Love the louvers. Glad you went that route.

Well actually last night I got on the phone with my shop and they just happen to have a set of perfect condition ORIGINAL FACTORY 935 centerlock setups, so he's contacting some people for the custom centers for the wheels to bolt to the centerlock hubs so I don't know what design we're going with right now (mesh, split fork or 5 spoke) but they'll be 15 x 11" fronts and 18 x 15" rears.
I'll post pics when I get them, they have a few races on them but structurally they're sound and good to be used on the street. I just need a planetary gear torque wrench!

I was referring to the bling type of attraction. The kinds of attention the satin black cars get is not the normal kind of attention at all, its more towards the respect and admiration side of things
![]() Love your car
