DWUR Fitted but doesn't start

Hello,

Fitted my DWUR UTCIS-PT from Unwired but the car doesn't start. It started the first time I turn the key but for only three seconds or so. I discovered a fuel leaking fitting on the Dwur body and fixed it.

The car is a '92 3.3 964T. I went for the Dwur because the original WUR died.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

when I have these ran for a second and then no start problems I usually start diagnosis by removing the air cleaner and depressing the air meter plate and turning the engine over. If nothing else you should be able to hear the fuel pumps running. This will get fuel flowing through the system. Does the dwur arrive set up for your application or is it set up for stock? And grounds grounds grounds!

a NEW wur? I first want to try the DWUR. If I'm not sucesfull I will go to a standard WUR again and thinking seriously about fitting an EFI or sell the car and buy something more tunable (996T...)

I think the Dwur comes with a 930 map.

What does "grounds" mean? Electric ground¿?

Yes, electrical grounds. The dwur is powered, good clean grounds can make the difference between operating and not.

I positioned the black box on top of the air filter box. I got the ground from an standard porsche ground spot (two wires are connected to it) on the right side of the engine bay, just next to the oil dip stick. So I suposse this is not a problem...

Make sure you have good power at the "switched power" lead. I think you can basically just use the power that went to the regular WUR. Not sure how the new versions are wired (I've had 3 and each had some changes in the wiring), but you also need a good tach signal, I believe, so make sure that is solid. Aside from that you just need a ground or two.

Have you checked to make sure all the various 930 relays are OK? Taking off the intercooler to set up the WUR, you could have nudged the connection to the boost shut off sensor, etc. I have had simialr symptoms (fire/no start) due to the yellow relay in the rear fender being bad and/or the boost sensor being diconnected.

Also, check your fuel pump relays.

Ok, thanks.

I'm goint to verify all that things. It's interesting this info for the people fitting this device. You can learn a lot about the car.

I'm in contact with UT as well.
