Bumper guard question
I have read that the Turbos have a different profile for the bumper guards. I have a 77 Turbo that I want to replace the wide bumper guards with the narrower Euro type, so that I can cut windows into the bumper for added airflow.
Does anyone know if the part numbers below would work as replacements? 911.505.341.00 911.505.342.00 I really appreciate the help. Thanks Karsten

you are correct in that there are two euro bumpers available.
here's some pics that show the differences in the lower profile when mounted on a 81 SC. the part numbers are available if you do a search on 'euro' bumper guards, I imagine. either one will work, just that if anyone gets down on all fours to check your gap, they can see wheither you are using the 930 pn or the 911 pn. Would moving out the bottom valance fix the gap problem? Looks like it's just a matter of moving it out, drilliing and tapping new holes...
EDIT: I guess you would have a gap on the right side of the valance where it normally tucks in, but what's worse? |

Not to be a party pooper but......why do you even want those ugly rubber tits anyway?? The cars look sooooo much cleaner with them removed completey. All that is requires is a couple of hole plugs to fill in the old bolt holes and your done.

![]() I don't think I'd bother to move it. It would be six of one and a half dozen of another. My left one was getting so hit at the track, it was melting. I had blobs of rubber hanging down 3" from the bottowm. I finally removed both and pitched them. Should have keep the right one though and found a left one when I needed it. Thanks for all the feedback. I think that I'll give the 911 part numbers a try. Looks like you would have to look pretty close to notice it.
bkreigsr, I am going to do what you've done to your back bumper to get more of the heat out from around the engine and turbo. My car was running really hot this summer. I took the lower valence off, and it made a big difference. the slots in the valence and rear bumper look great. Karsten

prior to the mods, I was getting the bumper to over 400 deg on the track, and the oil up over 300 on the drive home from the track in July holiday traffic. after, the bumper never gets over 200, and the oil stays below 230 in extreme situations. remember this is a no-intercooler car.
(I bought a cheapo laser temperature reader specifically for these readings) all work, except painting the bumper, was done by yours truly, with a lot of help from Mr. Dremel. Bill K
