Hello Group, I'm new to this group and i have been reading and following some of the threads. I want to change my 911 Turbo to a RSR look. Would like to see some pictures and also where to get the kits. What's out there and how much am i looking at? I'm in Los Angeles area. Would love to find some used parts to save money if possible. Will be glad to hear back from this group. Thank you

I'm not a 911 guy but I think those (70's RSR's) are the coolest cars ever.

No idea on the cost. I'm assuming you're just talking about the bodywork (not necessarily the suspension, motor, etc.). Seeing as how you're in LA, you can contact Kevin at Automotive Innovations and Restorations (AIR, I think their website if autoinno.com) for an idea. He's over in Van Nuys and posts under KevinP73 on this board. Does very good work. He's worked on a number of Pelicans' cars. I've never heard a bad comment about him. There's also Kundensport over in Camarillo. More of a price-no-object approach (not literally, but you get what I mean). Ask them for a quote to see what a high-end price would be for comparison.

Sorry to say, no it's not, but that one is a friend of mine's, and the rs60 behind it is another friend of mine's. The guy with the rs 60 has some neat 50's porsches. Races at least 2 in the Monterey historics, and at Coronado speed festival. The rsr you see will probably be entered this year as it is a recent acquisition.

BTW, the guy who owns the rsr has a 77 turbo that he's been using as his daily driver...

American International Racing has the best pieces for a street conversion - americaninternationalracing.com is the website.
Bodywork, panels & paint will end up costing around $10k if its done correctly.

I didn't want to change the body flares, so I went with the IROC look. I took an IROC tail and made it clear the intercooler. Tried to keep it as true to the original IROC look as possible. Looks of work, but I like the end result.

Here's an RSR at Fantasy Junction. 1975 Porsche 911 3.0 Litre RSR
drmatera & kas930 look like the 3.0RS, I remember going to Fantasy Junction in the mid-90's trying to trade my 930 for a DeTomaso Mangusta. They said they didn't deal in 911's. They must have seen the light, scroll to the bottom. Fantasy Junction: Brokers of Fine Collector Automobiles and Vintage Race Cars

turbo prototype
Quote:
that's indeed the very first 1973 Frankfurt presentation of the turbo, interesting to note the rsr fender flares (IROC ) the 9/11 fuchs set up and the lightweight bumpers also IROC / '74 carrera rs , the typical 1973 s/steel small mirror and lollipop seats. Still a very pure, clean beast My 1988 Ruf built clubsport car looks much inspired to that prototype Simone
