Adding a fan to my intercooler

Has anyone added a fan to their intercooler? What would be the best way if wanted?

1)on top and blowing?
2)on top and sucking?
3) underneath and blowing?
4)underneath and sucking?

I just don't want to run out of air or disturb the air flow if you know what I mean.

If you are going to do it, the logical answer is on top, blowing - you have room to fit it there and the airflow is in right direction.

Pull through is always more efficient. That's why refrigeration systems use pull through. Room, as you point out, is the issue though.

When the cars moving, my intake temps cool off pretty fast when I get off the boost so it seems like there's good air flow without a fan.

According to this thread Engine Fan Drive Ratio, the 3.2 fan moves 1500 litres/second. Over 3,100 cubic feet per minute.

Which, apparently, takes about 10HP. That would be a pretty substantial 12V motor.

So why not just make sure your engine bay seals are good like the factory intended, shroud/seal the I/C like the factory intended and use the very large fan you already have?
