DP 930 Turbo Extended Tail
Guys, I've just purchased a DP Extended Turbo Tail for my car.
What rear bumper would suit this tail? I want to get rid of the bulky / heavy rear bumper, and go with a lightweight bumper. I was thinking either the C2T bumper, or a RUF CTR replica bumper. Which would look better with the DP Extended Turbo Tail? |

TT33,
I love the "Old School" long tails. Here is a nice comparison between stock and modified bumpers with the tail. Also a good bumper treatment thread on the 911 forum section. ![]() ![]() Cole

WOW, that is a massive tail!
The one I'm fitting is more like a OEM 930 tail, but the base is extended by 8" so it can house a larger/deeper intercooler

AH !!!!
I see, Very Nice, but not what I was thinking. I have the old style long tail that extends out over and sits on the rear bumper. I needed it because I'm running 934 headers with a center-mount turbo and the CIS moved to the rear corner of the engine compartment. Cole

If you're going with a smooth type rear bumper, you should also do the same for the front.

Nice! The one on the red car is the one I'm fitting. Not too high.
Here's the pic from the AIR site. ![]() I like the raised vertical louvres too, and will have mine painted fully gloss... no simulated rubber edge. That, with the RUF bumpers will cut weight dramatically compared to the bulky OEM components

I think Kremer also had a tail like this. Mine is similar but has a NACA duct under the tail at the back of the base on both sides.

Hi Bill, where did you get that tail from?
I think the AIR one I bought also has this NACA vent. |

It was a ebay item I think (hard to tell as I have purchased and sold so much on there and here though). It is very light and solid. The NACA ducts are not finished in the inside of the tail yet. I plan to plumb them to be used for fresh air intake for the turbo's. I have a massive MODE full bay intercooler and needed the added room.

I like the idea of routing fresh air from there to the two turbo's air intake / filters

911TT33,
I am waiting for my headers to come back from the fabricator so its only mocked up on top of the motor. Below is a picture of it sitting on the stand with the IC on top. (I know this is off topic, buts its your thread so here ya go) gavinc69, That tail looks vary simular except for the rear vents. Do your side NACA intakes hook to anything? ![]() IMG_2171 by rennsport_photography, on Flickr ![]() IMG_2172 by rennsport_photography, on Flickr ![]() Mode Twin Turbo Intercooler by rennsport_photography, on Flickr ![]() Mode Twin Turbo Intercooler by rennsport_photography, on Flickr
