We don't mind. Warms up the soul for us hunkered down for this brutal cold weather.

will hung 01-07-2014 06:52 AM

There is no reason to apologize for that last pic. I love that the tail ends up looking like a cross between a ducktail and an early whaletail (with no rubber lip).

AskewRSR 01-07-2014 08:10 AM

Thanks guys. That was.... a little ducktail.... with some Split tail. This car will come

RarlyL8 01-07-2014 09:23 AM

That list sounds like the factory version of my old Red Rocket. The Euro '78 SC donor was a factory option delete car. No A/C no sunroof no power anything. With the 930 fenders and turbo engine it weighed 2700lb wet. A lot of work to gut out a 965, why was that chassis chosen?

AskewRSR 01-09-2014 12:01 PM

Brian, I chose the 965 because I already had a Brumos 3.6L turbo motor and I wanted a g50/52 Transmission. I found a 965 that need a paint job and that worked for me because I wanted to build the entire car. I also liked that it already had Bilstein PSS9?? Coil over suspension. Yes, It has been alot of work but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. More pics very soon. T

I'm really curious to see the final weight. The shell of this car would be considerably stiffer than a 911/930 shell, so if there isn't a huge weight penalty, that's really cool.

AskewRSR 03-29-2014 02:17 PM

Installing the interior now. Here are a few pics from a month ago. Enjoy

jsveb 03-31-2014 03:05 PM

That is one clean looking car. Very slick.

AskewRSR 03-31-2014 06:03 PM

Thanks Jesper. I will have it in Carmel this august. Tate

jsveb 03-31-2014 06:42 PM

Sounds good. Mine should be back on the road by then.

I hope I have more time to spend this year enjoying the event.

I hope to see you and the car. Will you be driving it to Carmel?

AskewRSR 03-31-2014 06:46 PM

Sounds great. I will ship the car in mid July. It will stay in Carmel for a few months.

jsveb 03-31-2014 06:57 PM

You cannot no just ship a car from the east coasts to Carmel! It will get lonely, I will be more than happy to help you avoiding this :)

T77911S 04-01-2014 03:33 AM

i think he would have an 88 or 89 930, original. if not, then a 78.

will hung 04-01-2014 03:47 AM

That is a truly stunning car. I can't wait to see it fully finished.

RarlyL8 04-01-2014 04:00 AM

The intercooler alone is not going to allow enough air into the engine bay to cool the engine. The fan will pull from every hole in the compartment as pressure turns negative. It is likely the nice shroud will need a hole on the right side. Head temps will let you know how big the hole needs to be.

Flojo 04-01-2014 01:03 PM

oh sad... I'd love to see that 91-McQuens-Coice come to life... so many "gulf bue" cars around...

AskewRSR 04-01-2014 07:30 PM

Thanks we will start engine testing next week. Color is Pastel blue. T

Dude! I saw your car in downtown carmel a couple times over the weekend. Looks so sick in person! Love the whale tail.

zaman fu 08-21-2014 10:31 AM

that is so bad-ass.

AskewRSR 08-21-2014 10:33 AM

Thanks. We custom made the ducktail in house. Took 12 versions to get it right. I put 2000 miles on this car in 21 days driving around Carmel and up to napa. It is light and very fast. A blast to drive. Thanks, Tate

jsveb 08-21-2014 10:37 AM

Hi Tate

I gather you are back east?

I owe you dinner. Let me know if you come out west again anytime soon.

0-60Motorsports 08-21-2014 10:58 AM

Looks so amazing. Well done.

quattrorunner 08-21-2014 11:15 AM

That car is..........can't quite find the words. I love it.
The front wheels could come out a bit but being that low I'd guess it would have some significant rubbing.
Are the rear wheels 20 inch? That looks so cool and 935ish!
Really cool car.

TurboKraft 08-21-2014 03:46 PM

The shaved rain gutters really clean up the silhouette, IMO.
Looks fantastic, Tate!

krasuskyp 08-21-2014 06:52 PM

great to see you done finally Tate - great result!

D-Zug wheels?

sometime you gotta update me on yer bud (Lane?) w/ the UR ttGallardo, never heard anything further

great to see you around here again, been awhile...

911jettat 08-22-2014 07:53 AM

I love what you've done with the car. Perfect retro touches to a 964. Want, want, want!

Nice job, Tate. The D-Zug wheels look sublime .

AskewRSR 08-22-2014 04:01 PM

I had the wheels made. They are similar but different than the D Zug wheels. I really like the D Zug wheels but went this direction. Custom finish. Bronze in the center. Matte black barrels. Custom offsets to fit the car. Custom widths. Thanks

SAY - 642 08-22-2014 05:54 PM

I like the color, and the stance is just right !

Rey Gunn 08-24-2014 05:24 PM

Looks great! Love these kind of builds! What size wheel is on the rear? Looks like a 19". That staggered look is so awesome!
