Again, thanks for the replys.
I have to apologize, I am a idiot. All the leakdown results I have taken so far are no good. I was not setting my "new" leak down tester correctly. To make matters worse, I was also not even reading the gauge correctly and I only realized this when looking at my pictures in this tread. With this gauge you have to manually adjust the gauge to the zero% mark when not connected to the cylinder. In my first test I was setting the gauge to the start of the "green" on the gauge which is a huge mistake. In this test the cylinders are being pressured with 120psi of air- new results - GAUGE SET TO 0% ready to connect to cylinder ![]() This is roughly the reading I get for all cylinders except #4cyl. This equals 2-3% leak down ![]() ![]() This is #4cyl . This equals 5% leakage. The air is still coming out from the top crank case vent. If you put your hand in front of your face and lightly blow, that is about the amount of air coming out of the crank case vent. ![]() Again, sorry. I am a bit more happy but still wondering why the compression test is so low..... maybe its just because the engine needs to be up to running temp?? Thanks again |
