Rim width question

Everyone,

I have the opportunity to buy a set of wheels that are 17x9.5 up front and 17x12 out back.

I have searched the forum but could not find a definite answer, would these fit on a 930 without major work. They came of a 930 that had had body work done previously so it is not a great comparison.

They are too far away to test fit.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you,
Mike

rims

I run 17 x10, and 17 x12 on my 87 930. I think the determining factor will be your tire choice.

Did you have to move any oil lines or roll the fenders or anything like that to make it work ? Thanks for the pics.

no...

but the 245's on the front rub very slightly when I turn to extremes, say maybe like in a parking lot. The rears would properly accommodate 335's, I'm running 315's. Also different tire manufactures tires are diff. dimensions and weights. My front rims look almost too big for the tires in my opinion. Philip

It will depend a bit on the offset - ie where the extra width is being accomodated - insdie the hub or outside. if it is outside and the previous car had bodywork done to accomodate that, then you may have an issue. You may like to get the offset numbers and hopefully philip J can post his to compare. They are stamped on the rim. usually in the form of an E= number. This is the number of mm off the centreline. A - means one way and + (or nothing) means the other way.
